Beanstalk collects no personal data.
Not "collects a little." None. There is no account system, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no server operated by us that your data is sent to. This page explains what that means in detail, because a privacy policy that just says "we care about your privacy" tells you nothing.
Nothing. Beanstalk has no sign-up, no login, no email field, and no password. We never receive your name, your children's names, your balances, or your usage.
Everything you enter — kids' names and emoji, ledger entries, notes, goals, allowance and interest settings, and your Kid Mode PIN — is stored locally on your device.
If you have iCloud enabled, that same data syncs through your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, so it reaches your other devices and any co-parent you invite. This is Apple's infrastructure operating on your behalf under your Apple Account. We have no access to it, no credentials for it, and no ability to read it. Apple's handling is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
If you turn iCloud off, Beanstalk still works fully — it simply stops syncing.
Inviting a co-parent uses Apple's CKShare. They join with their existing Apple Account. We never see the invitation, their identity, or the shared contents. The name shown beside entries ("logged by Dad") is a label you or they typed, stored in the same private iCloud data.
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details, no card number, and no billing address — only Apple's signed confirmation that this device is entitled to the unlock. We cannot identify you from it.
All notifications are scheduled locally on your device. There is no push server. They are off until you turn them on.
Beanstalk is designed for a parent to use, with a Kid Mode a child may view on the parent's device. Because we collect no data at all, we collect no data from children. We do not knowingly receive personal information from anyone, of any age, because there is no mechanism by which we could.
Rights such as access, portability, correction, and erasure (under GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws) are normally exercised by asking a company for your data. Here, you already hold all of it:
We cannot delete your data on request for the simple reason that we do not have it.
If this policy ever changes materially, the updated date above will change and the new version will be published here before the change takes effect in a released version of the app.
